Canadian Domain Name Registrant Mergers

If you have multiple Canadian domain name registrations under different Canadian domain Registrants (i.e. different CIRA Registrant No.), make managing your Canadian domain name registration more convenient by consolidating your Canadian domain Registrants. The Canadian domain Registrant Merge procedure will merge two Canadian domain name Registrant accounts into one.

Consolidating multiple Canadian domain name registrations

The CIRA Registrant Merger will merge the second Registrant with the first. In other words, if Registrant #2 would like to be merged with Registrant #1, this procedure will complete the process for your Canadian domain name registration.

ALL Canadian domain names and Technical Contacts of Registrant #2 will be transferred to the first Registrant. However, the Administrative Contact of Registrant #2 will be deleted.

To begin the Canadian domain Registrant Merger process:

1. Email our Support Team with the following information:
   
   • Registrant #1 CIRA Registrant Number
   • Registrant #2 CIRA Registrant Number


2. We will place the Canadian domain name Registrant Merge request at CIRA on your behalf. Once the merge request has been placed, both Registrant Administrative Contacts will receive an email requesting confirmation of the Canadian domain name registration and domain name registrant changes.


3. It is important that both Registrant parties approve the Canadian domain Registrant Merger within 7 days at CIRA.

Transfer specific Canadian domains to Registrant only

If you have multiple Canadian domain names but would like to transfer only specific ones to another Registrant, the Canadian domain Registrant Merger procedure will not be suitable. Instead, transfer the specific domain names to the Canadian domain Registrant of your choice using our Transfer Canadian (.ca) Domain to Another Person.

Canadian domain name Registrant Merger restrictions

• In order for us to request a Registrant Merger, Computer Engineering Inc./DOMAINSunder must be your domain name registrar. Otherwise, please switch to us using our Transfer to us feature on DOMAINSunder.


• Registrant Merger requests for Canadian domain names will fail if either of the Registrants have active/unconfirmed processes, such as critical domain registration information changes (i.e. Administrative Contact updates) or domain name transfers. Before preceeding with a Canadian Registrant Merger, please ensure that all domain name registration information is current.
